sara zoumbaris [in a nutshell]
who: an easy-going, bigcity-smalltown gal. i prefer the elusive and relaxed, slower living pace. what: master thrifter, interior creator, furniture re-finisher with a growing power tool collection. where: richmond – the design-driven capitol of virginia. previous influential stays have included washington dc, san francisco and rome. why?: there is just too much darn creativity in this world to not stop and take a second - if i am lucky - maybe even a minute to enjoy. Depending on how well you know me, you might know that I am constantly reading about, sifting through, sharing and simply absorbing as much awesome design as my day allows. If you really know me well, you know that it started with weekend art days as a child - led by my beautiful mother - up in Michigan. If you really REALLY know me, you know that I once dreamed of becoming a fashion photographer and even studied Italian in college so I could travel tutto il mundo parlare italiano [big dreamer]. If you still know me nowadays you know that after a degree in advertising, I hungout in San Francisco for a summer where I decided becoming more creative and producing something of my own was a necessity; as a result I studied interior design in Washington DC. I soul searched my way back and forth across the globe with all these dreams, experiences and inspirations guiding me. This blog began very simply as an outlet to share all the wonders I discover in the design community everyday- purposeful, inspiring, and insightful design. This stuff can come from anywhere, it can come in any medium and serve any purpose and I will be sharing some of this stuff from now on right here! This blog is not about interior design, or graphic design, or trendy design – this is my personal design hangout and I hope you’ll come on back and hang! - sara z. |
