I have 1 hour every day to do whatever I want while I eat my summer salad and you know what I do with it? I scour craigslist for deals, gems, future re-fab projects and lost treasures. Everyday is a different story and at some point these links will expire, but here are the treasure that struck my fancy today:
These adorable partner desks would be fabulous in a children's room/ play room or in tight kitchen as 2 separate working/ eating surfaces. The desks open up for storage so take a seat and chop some veggies while you watch your favorite shows!
Definitely an over the top DIY project, someone buy this throne and put it in their backyard lagoon please.
Nothing pleases me more than a pet owner customizing everything for their furbaby - furbaby on fleek. Your typical cat accessory is seizure inducing, and most likely doesn't abide by the average home's color scheme (unless of course you are a dead head or a dedicated child of the 60's.) Our 4-legged companions deserve the healthy fabric and material standards we hold for ourselves. I'm not an expert on the sustainability of cat toys but I can imagine most contain potentially harmful petroleum-like ingredients. Designed for you, your lovely home AND your furry friend, here are a few accessories you can be proud to showcase in your home!
Meyou's contemporary offerings made of natural fabrics paired with light wood and dark metal are relatable and comfortable. Made from 100% scratch able cotton, these beds come in an array of warm, pleasing tones that are sure to be a purrrrfect addition to any thoughtful abode. Visit Meyou's website for more information and to get Princess or Bert a classy cat bed!
The wonderful crafters on etsy offer an endless array of chic, comfy cat caves and beds for most sized fur babies. I do recommend understanding what your pet prefers before you spend money on these unique, one-of-a-kind items.
Plastic, wires, toys made in questionable factories out of questionable materials. If any of these are sounds of concern for you and your friend, consider buying healthier chew toys from a trusted source. One of my favorite go to sites is Purrfect Play, organic toys, accessories and treats made in Indiana, USA. By default these accessories feel very Nordic without the inflated price tag.
we've all got them, whispering in our ears begging us to give them some of our time and money - our beloved hobbies! it doesn't matter if you're a surfer, an avid martial arts weapon collector or you love going to shows - this is part of who you are and by-golly, you should be displaying this love within your personal "art" collection! me? oh i myself am a big live music lover and if you're lucky enough to get your hands on one of the more artistic show posters, it certainly deserves a place on the wall. this form of art not only showcases the musical artists you love but is often a thoughtful design by a local designer. i have rounded up a few fun concert poster examples from some local Richmond, Virginia designers for your viewing pleasure. when you're at your next concert, remember this advice from the design sloth!

Happy Earth Day everyone! It's important to protect and respect the natural world around us for many reasons, but one of them being we don't want our planet to end up like this and then the only people who get to enjoy nature are the ones who leave the planet and live in outer space with Jodi Foster as their president (no thanks!) Having greenery indoors is one way to learn about and help preserve nature all while creating a healthier indoor environment. If you 're anything like me and love tropical environments, you will love Dossofiorito's new Epiphyte aerial planters for Tropical Epiphyte plants.
Epiphytes are any plant in the wild that root themselves onto branches or leaves of other trees instead of soil. They are not parasitic and gather their own nutrients independent of their "resting place." These planters provide a safe haven for epiphytes to grow as wild and free as possible, mimicking their natural environment. The planters are made from 3 simple and natural materials - ceramic clay, cork, and stainless steel - alternating porous and glazed ceramic to allow for natural ventilation. Simply water & enjoy these lovelies next to your indoor hammock! For more information on orchids, ferns and other Epiphytes, check out the Encyclopedia Britannica landing page here!
Do you consider yourself a gypsy, wandering-spirit who thrives on experiencing life on the go? For those travelers among us with restless souls, with wandering hearts and with the constant travel bug biting in their ear, "Where are we going next friend?" - let us celebrate the wonderful world of (and sort of under the radar) tiny caravans. Not being a huge fan of hotels and their lack of homey-ness, I more often now find myself daydreaming about the benefits of hooking up my very own tiny caravan and traveling off to just about anywhere; really anywhere you can park a car. Not only do you avoid paying for an overnight crash pad but the customization of a small space presents endless possibilities - just imagine a dorm room on the go!
Featured above is a 1971 Shasta camper that was renovated to Serve as a portable bar for weddings, parties, festivals etc. Can you say awesome awesome? Woodworking/ Artist husband and wife duo of Mabel Studios out of Boone, NC are responsible for this lovely transition. The floor plan (completely customized) was based on fitting three full-sized kegs, a draught tower, two under-mount sinks for beer display and a large roller ice sink. Warm woods and cool whites/ greens were combined paying homage to vintage California-dreaming! Check out a full article and interview here.
Our second indulgence, this Midway 1959 camper, is lovingly called a "canned ham" in the tiny camper community - your guess is as good as mine. The rad chick behind Wild Poppy vintage bought this old gal and cleaned her up to use as on vintage-pop up sales - brilliant and so cool! It's clear that her vintage clothing business and the boehmian southwest served as design inspirations - native patterns, colors and relics are found scattered throughout.
